Why is the conference called Tsunami?

By admin - Posted on 11 September 2008

  • Most people think of a Tsunami as a large wave. This generation of students could be the largest generation in history. Because of their outward focus, we believe that this generation could be the largest wave of students serving God ever! So the real Tsunami is “God’s wave of student involvement.”
  • Physical tsunamis are caused by a movement of the earth (and earthquake or volcano). The spiritual Tsunami is caused by a movement of God within this generation.
  • Tsunami’s travel across the ocean unseen until they come in contact with land. The friction with the land causes the wave to rise. As this generation of student servants comes in contact with their culture, the friction will cause them to rise up in response.
  • When a tsunami hits land, the landscape changes. When this generation is unleashed as God’s Tsunami, the landscape of our culture and our churches will be changed, only this time, for the better.
